It has been suggested that Muscat is perhaps the oldest domesticated grape variety and that most families within Vitis vinifera (the family of grapes we use for winemaking) are descended from Muscat.
Loved for a notable floral aromatic, that is the definition of grape to most, while the flavours of the wine are often subtle tasting of peach and citrus.
2021 was a beautiful year for Brennan’s aromatic whites, a cooler season provided refreshing acidity and purity of fruit which present in the wines as lifted florals on the nose followed by notes of honeysuckle and freshly sliced melon on the palate. Off dry in style to compliment the acidity we find at elevation in Gibbston, Central Otago.
