Brennan Pinot Grigio 2009

resources/scan-2.jpgTasting Notes:

The Brennan Pinot Grigio is produced in a dry style (>2 gms/ltr) designed for easy drinking.
Aromas of green apple, lime blossom and subtle flint notes are followed by a crisp palate of white peach and honeydew melon.
Firm mineral undertones drive the wine through a persistant finish.

Vineyard:

The Brennan Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio block resides on the lower flats of the family vineyard. The block has been divided into two separate blocks and each is treated quite differently in order to obtain the desired styles. The Pinot Grigio has been pruned to four cordons in order to allow for higher yields. The block is only lightly shoot thinned/leaf plucked and fruit thinned. Combined with early harvest dates these practices allow us to retain the brighter fruit characters and high acidity desirable for the style.

Winemaking:

160 cases produced.
