Brennan Gibbston Gewurztraminer 2010
Awarded 90 points from Wine Orbit and 4.5 Stars from Michael Cooper
TASTING NOTES
Moderate sweetness (21gms/ltr) showing lifted honeysuckle and caramelised lychee on the nose followed by a rich palate of ripe nashi pear infused with notes of dried apricot and subtle clove spice balanced with crisp acidity frames a textural palate.
FOOD MATCHING
Gewürztraminer goes well with anything containing red chilli such as Indian and Thai curries. It also goes well with some of the softer cheeses such as Munster, Brie and camembert.
PRODUCTION
130 Cases produced.
VINEYARDS
A half hectare of Gewürztraminer occupies a small, stony corner on the steeper slopes of the Brennan Vineyard. This variety is notoriously inconsistent in yields
